TA DA!

My Special Project - Hubby's Veteran Quilt.  He is a veteran of the VietNam conflict and with all the Patriotic Themed quilts I've done for QFC SewFest, he had yet to receive one.  This year the making of his quilt was my priority at SewFest.  I know the fabric around the white embroidered squares look like it's polka dots, but it is actually drums - I'd liken it to Civil War style drums.
Yesterday was his birthday and we had family over to celebrate.  Here my 7 year old grandson is reading the label:

The 5 year old is just happy being apart of helping Grandpa open his birthday present :-)

My granddaughter looks on as she actually helped do some of the quilting and her name is included on the label.  Her dad is sitting behind her and my son is looking on from the sofa.  My hubby loves his quilt and feels it was worth 'the wait'.  If you have a veteran in your life, I hope you take the time to make him something special and let him know he is appreciated.

TA DA! WOW! That quilt looks amazing, Katie! And Kari must be so proud that you included her name on the label. What a great present! Looks like your husband really loves it!

What a wonderful gift! It's great that the grandkids were there to witness him receiving it. They will remember how special it is!
