I do love Christmas. I love my family and being with them is the best gift of all. I thought I was in the home stretch of getting things done - then reality set in! I figured on cutting the last of the flannel today and getting it all sewn up this next week. In all of this, I still have a quilt to quilt! But.... I pulled out one of my jammie patterns, and wouldn't you know it, it's a size larger than I need. I thought it was a size 2 but nope it's a 3/4 (med) - so guess who will have to drive all the way into Tucson to buy a pattern! Nope, no place closer, so it's a 50 mile drive for me. On top of that is a busy week as I'm on a committee for the Electric Light Parade which will be followed by a 'social' with a warming fire and serving a hot beverage and cookies. Yesterday several friends and I put most of our float together.
We're quite lit up! It's hard to see, but we have the 'fire place' and the tree. In the center, we placed stuffed animals with presents and wrapped lights all around.
I'm not sure how many strands of lights we have on our float, but I know it's at least 9. But, hey, it is a LIGHT parade :-)
We spent about 4 hours on this and we still have at least another hour to finish it up. We really had a lot of fun doing this. Just spending time with friends, lots of laughter and sharing a pizza after. That's what the Christmas spirit is all about - sharing.
oh, bless my hubby, he let us take up all that space in his shop.
